Construction of New Burial Niches and Ossuaries

D.Lavori - A.D. 1999

This ossuary, designed with elegance and respect for its surroundings, is characterized by the predominant use of travertine, a natural stone that lends the structure a timeless beauty. The ossuary’s niches are clad in travertine with warm, natural tones that blend harmoniously with the cemetery’s surroundings. This material, known for its durability and unique texture, evokes a sense of solidity and serenity, making it ideal for a place of remembrance.

The façade is adorned with simple yet elegant white columns that support a series of curved, triangular pediments, creating a delicate and sophisticated visual contrast with the travertine below. The combination of travertine and classical architectural elements creates a neat and solemn aesthetic that invites contemplation. The ossuary stands on a slightly raised base, making it stable and durable over time; the travertine not only enhances its aesthetic appeal but also ensures longevity, keeping alive the memory of those who rest there.
