The Genesis of a Dream: From the Noise of the City to the Silence of the Landscape
This demolition and reconstruction project in Filottrano is not just a building project, but the fulfillment of a profound desire. The client, eager to leave behind the fast-paced, frenetic pace of the metropolis, sought a safe haven in the Marche hills, a place where time seems to slow down and breathing becomes deeper.
Casa Morino was born this way: as a retreat designed for vacations and a return to a human dimension, a private hermitage where architecture becomes silence and the landscape takes center stage. The choice of this panoramic location, overlooking the typical valleys of the Ancona hinterland with a view stretching towards the Apennines and the silhouettes of historic villages, was the compass that guided every design decision.
The Soul of Tradition: Material and History
The goal was to revive an ancient image through contemporary technologies. We wanted the new farmhouse to look as if it had always been there, in perfect harmony with the surrounding nature:
The Charm of Reclaimed Brick: The exterior facades were entirely clad in antique, reclaimed exposed bricks. Each piece carries a story, a nuance of color that only time can bestow. Beneath this ancient "skin," however, beats a modern heart: a high-performance thermal insulation system that guarantees an ideal temperature in every season.

The Excellence of Solid Oak: Upon entering the house, the eye is drawn to the attics. Here, the choice fell on squared solid oak. The imposing and noble beams define the space with a rigorous yet warm geometry, evoking the solidity of ancient stately homes and offering a sublime contrast to the luminous interiors.

The Structure of the Future: To ensure maximum seismic safety and excellent insulation, we used ISOTEX blocks, combining the strength of stone with the performance of green building.

The Garden and the Pool: An Extension of Living to Infinity
The boundary between inside and outside dissolves in a project that celebrates outdoor living:
The Infinity Pool: Imagined as a body of water reflecting the clouds and the silhouettes of the hills, the pool is the heart of summer relaxation. Strategically positioned to enjoy the sunset light, it allows you to immerse yourself in the total tranquility of the private park.

Sensory Paths in Terracotta Tiles: We salvaged old terracotta tiles to create the sidewalks and outdoor walkways. Laid with artisanal skill, these textured surfaces guide your steps through the garden, interacting with the Corten steel of the gate, whose natural oxidation recalls the tones of plowed earth.

Hydraulic and Landscape Respect: Behind the beauty of the lawn lies meticulous engineering: the study of hydraulic invariance and sub-irrigation systems ensure that the project is in complete harmony with the delicate hydrogeological balance of the Marche region.

Invisible Innovation for Absolute Comfort
Despite its rural appearance, Casa Morino is a jewel of fully electric technology:
Sustainability and Autonomy: A photovoltaic system silently powers the heat pump, managing the climate and hot water without the use of fossil fuels.

Architecture and Light: The state-of-the-art aluminum window frames disappear from view thanks to automated blinds integrated into the glass, allowing light to flood the rooms, which feature parquet floors and a staircase with suspended wooden steps—a true fulcrum of the contemporary design.
