Demolition and reconstruction of a farmhouse in the hills of Senigallia
A new farmhouse in the Marche region between tradition and contemporary architecture
This demolition and reconstruction intervention with expansion, carried out between 2018 and 2020, was born from the need of the owner - originally from the area - to create a place where he can return periodically to peacefully experience the landscape of the Marche hills and the nearby sea of Senigallia.
The objective of the project was clear: to create a building capable of maintaining the typical appearance of the farmhouses of the Marche countryside, while at the same time offering modern, bright interior spaces suitable for welcoming friends and family, with a strong visual relationship with the landscape.
An architecture that respects the construction tradition
The new building was built with Poroton-type load-bearing brick masonry, a solution that guarantees structural solidity and good thermal performance.
To maintain the traditional image of the Marche farmhouse, the facades were clad with exposed antique recovered bricks, laid over an external insulation system which improves the energy performance of the building without altering its aesthetics.
The floors were made with a river fir wood structure, a material that recalls the rural building tradition and helps to create warm and welcoming interior environments.
Contemporary comfort and energy efficiency
The building is equipped with a heat pump heating and cooling system, powered by a 3 kW photovoltaic system, a solution that allows you to reduce energy consumption and improve the sustainability of the home.
The aluminum frames guarantee high thermo-acoustic performance and are equipped with automated internal glass blinds, a discreet technology that keeps the architectural reading of the facades clean.
Warm and contemporary interior spaces
Inside, the rooms are characterized by parquet floors, which contribute to creating a welcoming and domestic atmosphere.
The central element of the project is the staircase with suspended wooden steps, a light and contemporary architectural solution that becomes the protagonist of the internal space, interacting with the wooden structure of the floors.
The relationship with external space
Great attention was also paid to the arrangement of the outdoor spaces, designed to enhance outdoor living and the relationship with the landscape.
The perimeter sidewalk in recycled tiles recalls traditional local materials, while the corten steel gate introduces a contemporary element that dialogues with the warm tones of the brick masonry.
A place to experience the Marche landscape
The result is a farmhouse that combines architectural tradition, modern technologies and energy efficiency, designed as a refuge where you can calmly experience the rhythm of the Marche hills and the proximity of the sea of Senigallia.
An architecture that recovers the image of the rural house in the Marche, reinterpreting it with a contemporary language, capable of offering comfort, hospitality and a direct relationship with the landscape.
